Confused fans sat bumper to bumper in the Game Time parking lot while we secured our spacious spot by the ice place and walked the 200 yards to the front door. Rubber necking commuters stalled traffic from Reed's Pond to Dairy queen as they struggled to get a glimpse of this Prank Monkey that had created a line out the front door. Even before we crossed Center Ave I could hear the distant echo of a full blown Pete Flinn thunder storm that let off a burst of enthusiasm at the end of a long week.Flinn has a unique style with the speed of Mitch Mitchel and the boom of a howitzer. It's Mitchel meets Bonham and this guy just unleashes on the skins with such skill that it can shave off a week of stress in the first three minutes.

Once inside it was wall to wall Pranksters. I mean, I have seen the yee ole 123 pub packed a few times through the years but this was a full house. They were all there for the same thing I was, to see Bon Sarno and the Prank Monkey Band deal out double doses of mansion shaking Monkey Business, and they delivered as promised!

Flinn and Hog
Prank Monkey rock and roll is not like anything else on the local music scene. These guys play a style of hardball rock at such a high level that it just leaves you shaking your head, stomping your feet and smiling ear to ear in pleasant surprise. Take lead Paul Sarno, this guy is without a doubt the premier front man out there today. His vocals are stellar and his showmanship is aces. The guy spews positive energy that transfers into the scores of stage side fans . I once saw Paul Sarano nearly knock down the Rockland Eagles with his charisma. Ask anyone who was there, the old Bigelo Mansion was actually swaying back and forth as he lead the dance floor like a rock raged aerobics instructor while the Pranksters blasted the rafters.

Zuel, Paul Donovan and fans.
Then there is Dana "Zuel" Leonard, band founder and mastermind that brings the bang to the Prank sound with Metalica/Slayer accents on guitar and vocals, Seasoned by military service and sauteed with great working bands like Proud Shovel and Too Loose Zuel along with brother in law, lead guitarist Paul "Hog" Fara, complete the rock and roll dish perfectly. Fara, a life long head banger with a legion of experiences from the Ranch House to Crossroads music is sheer skills and style. Bass player Paul Donovan completes the band of brothers with an old school-er big banger sound. Donovan is a self made bassist that has played thousands of gigs with names like Too loose and the 80's skull smackers, Leather Angel

Paul Zuel and The Hog, and some drunk on the floor
The men from Prank Monkey have all their ducks in a row as they tear through the Rockland Music scene and beyond. A full force, totally unleashed brand of hard rock that is not for the faint hearted. The Pranksters blast out three hours of high volume, vamped up rock standards that make for one of the best rock shows out there. The Monkeys did a version of the Kinks, Paranoia self destroyer that will cling in my head for years to come. A fantastic company of musicians that churn out a custom crafted product for all to enjoy. If you get chance, check out the Prank Monkey Band. Check out some of their great records on their website
