The Rockland Senators and Canton White played in Rockland Stadium under the lights on a night of drizzle and fog. This was a makeup game and Canton was the home team, so Rockland batted first. The Senators set the tone early, when lead off hitter Joe Lennon reached base on a Canton error, and scored after a pass ball and single by Kevin Sheehan. Rockland posted three runs in the first inning and never looked back. The Senators added two runs in the third inning, three runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth, and five runs in the sixth inning, to gain complete control of the game. Canton White had no luck against Rockland starter Joe Lennon, who struck out six Canton batters, and limited them to two unearned runs caused by Rockland errors. The Senators had ten hits off Canton pitching, but only six earned runs. Rocklands' hit parade included Joe Lennon 2 for 3, Kevin Sheehan, Chris Scheim, and Mike Driscoll going 2 for 4, Joe Dubeau 1 for 3, and Greg Roache going
1 for 2 , and extending his hitting streak to eight games. The Senator hit machine keeps going and for the second game in a row has put fifteen runs in the winners column.

MAY 30, 2009

The Hanson Senior Team #1 came to Rockland Veterans Memorial Stadium to play two games on a beautiful day for baseball. The first game was against Rockland Team Garner which went in favor of the hometown boys, by a score of 8 to 7. Game two was against the Rockland Senators coming off a big win on Friday Night against Canton in the inclement weather twenty four hours earlier. Rockland looked a little flat, while Hanson was ready to avenge the first loss to Team Garner. Hanson hopped all over Rockland starter Kevin Sheehan, for three runs in the top of the first inning, forcing the coaching staff to make a pitching change. The Senators responded in the bottom of the first inning, with an eight run attack of their own. Joe Lennon, Chris Scheim, Sean Alexander and Mike Driscoll all singled, add in a couple of Hanson errors, sprinkle in a couple of base on balls, and a dash of a Kevin Sheehan triple and you have a recipe for eight runs. Hanson on the other hand was not done just yet. In the top of the second, Hanson, after two outs, knocked around Rocklands' Joe Dubeau for five straight hits, to gain three more runs in their column.
Rockland scored one more run in the bottom of the second when, Scott Stohlberg singled, stole second then third, and was driven home by Bill Gray. The Senators continued their attack in the bottom of the third when, Kevin Sheehan, Chris Scheim, and Mike Driscoll singled, then Scott Stohlberg reached on an error, keeping the inning alive. Rocklands' Matt McKeown grounded to second base to get his first RBI of the season, and Joe Dubeau doubled to push the fourth run of the inning home. The Senators would top out with sixteen runs in this game, giving them their seventh win. Scott Stohlberg came in to pitch for Rockland shutting down Hanson the rest of the game, striking out six in three innings of work. Other notes on the game were Greg Roaches' hitting streak ends at eight, Scott Stohlberg went 2 for 2, Kevin Sheehan and Chris Scheim went 2 for 3, Sean Alexander and Joe Lennon went 2 for 4, and Mike Driscoll went 4 for 5 in the winning effort.
